US Endoscopy announces full market release of the Moray® micro forceps

Mentor, Ohio — June 22, 2016 — US Endoscopy, a world leader in endoscopy device design and manufacturing, is proud to announce the release of the Moray®micro forceps. The new Moray® micro forceps is designed to acquire reliable tissue samples from lesions that can occur within and outside of the gastrointestinal tract.

The single-use Moray® micro forceps features serrated jaws and a flexible spring sheath to effectively grab tissue samples, helping to lead to a more definitive diagnosis and targeted therapy. The small design of the forceps allows for direct tissue sampling through most 19 gauge FNA needles and offers functionality in tortuous positions.

“Current methods for diagnosing lesions within and beyond the mucosa of the GI tract are not providing our Customers with the reliable, conclusive results they are looking for,” says Tony Siracusa, Vice President and General Manager of US Endoscopy. “In listening to this unmet need, US Endoscopy developed the Moray®micro forceps, a revolutionary device that successfully captures tissue samples from the wall of pancreatic cystic lesions helping to make the diagnosis more readily than standard methods. Until now, this was something clinicians were unable to do.”
